It sounds too good to be true??

and I think the Joppa ones too but the mailman didn't bother to ring the bell and just left the notice on my front door. Humpf....
Anyway, here are the pictures first:
It seems like Ethereals shades run lighter than Minimalist shades. Upon application, it seems like Pure Gold is a better match than Soft Gold and Pure Yellow. So I will have to try them out on my face before confirmation.
This brand was pulled out of our shores a few years ago and many were heartbroken at having to source for our favourite foundations and primers in KL or Bangkok.
We also missed some of the ultra cute and delectable Seasonal Limited Editions (LE) sets that were launched every Christmas.
But recently, Luxasia managed to bring this fabulous brand back into Singapore. So yeah!! I don't have to wait for friends to proxy back their stuff for me.
I love love their eyebrow pencil cos the shape of the pencil is not round but slightly flattened so that it is easier for you to draw the curve on your brows. Other than this, I also liked their facial oil blotter. What is unique about this blotter is that instead of pulling out sheets of blotters from the dispenser, you pull out a whole length of the blotter and then tear it off when you feel like it (think ala aluminium foil) So I can just pull out as long a length as I like and not have to keep pulling out small, itsy bits of blotters all the time (ok, you can just hear that I am an oily)
Recently, I also discovered how good their Lip Essence N is. It is very moisturising and not waxy like the type of balms that we normally buy. With 3 flavours to choose from, Lemon, Strawberry and Mint, what more can you want;)
My mini hauls:
I really enjoy watching the show put up by Egypt though this was their first Olympics. I don't know about others but I find that it is much better and interesting to watch something that is, shall I say it, not so restrained?
Alot of vigor and strength in their performance. Will be seeing much of them in future international events:)
IIRC, Singapore only have one high school that has Synchro Swimming as a Extra Curriculum Activities (ECA) and it is Methodist Girls' School?
Goodbye Taiwan!
Our last day in Taiwan. As our flight was at 6pm, we had some time to kill after checking out of the hotel. I dragged J back to Ximending as I wanted to buy the green version of the orange toy I bought yesterday.
Very odd flavours (from left to right) - Coffee (can't quite recall), sour plum, green tea and pomelo
We returned to the hotel around 3 plus for our cab ride to the airport. I bought a packet of mua chee and a box of sesame chips at the 新东洋 outlet at the airport. J also bought a box of the sesame chips for his family.
The plane was relatively empty and there was no one sitting beside us. J took some lovely pictures of the sky.
We arrived back in Singapore's Terminal 3 around 11pm. Home sweet home!
Annick Goutal Songes EDT 50ml
Serge Lutens Un Lys, Bell jar
Frederic Malle Lys Méditerranée (to try)
Yup, I think that's about it for now.

Today was a lazy day. While checking out the foodcourt at Shinkong Mitsukoshi Department Store, we came across a 鲁肉饭 stall and were amazed by how generous they were with the vegetables. There was a short queue and we decided to share one of the sets which cost NTD100 (S$4.50). Considering we're getting a bowl of 鲁肉饭 with a huge plate of veggies and a big bowl of soup, it's really quite value for money!
鲁肉饭 - Big bowl of rice with braised meat and bamboo shoots
Big bowl of soup that was rich in flavour and had quite a lot of clams in it
Rurouni Kenshin (浪客剑心)
I also bought this cos it looked interesting. It's called "可不可以不要上班". Why would anyone not buy this?!
I must have bought a lot, the lady at the bookstore actually gave me a VIP card! Anyway, as the books were very heavy, we went back to the hotel to drop them off. We then proceeded to Ximending for lunch. Since we were in the mood for Japanese food and we had already tried 大车轮, we decided to give 美观园 a try.
Deep fried quail - also not great
继续买东西吃东西
I continued to shop...and shop...and shop...
On our way to 大车轮, we passed by a famous mee sua shop called 阿宗面线.
It seems like there are no tables in the shop and they only provide spoons, so the customers just ate while standing outside the shop. J and I are not fans of mee sua, so we were quite fascinated by the number of people scooping furiously away at the mee sua.
There was a pretty long queue at 大车轮, but we didn't have to wait long. The waitress asked if we would mind sitting upstairs and we told her we didn't. So we followed her up the stairs and look at this!!!
After leaving the restaurant, we were on the way to the train station when we came across this duo who called themselves 棉花糖 or katncandix2. I was very attracted to the girl's singing; she has a nice voice and sings well. Her rendition of some of Eason Chan's songs was very soulful and actually gave me goosebumps. As luck would have it, they were about to release their first album, all self-funded it seemed. I bought a copy for only NTD200 (S$9.10) and got their autographs. J whispered to me to treasure the album as it would be priceless when they become famous (*_*)...
I became interested in her album after watching her 知道 music video on TV. The album is very good! Go buy it! I liked it so much that I went to buy her first album 我不想忘记你 after I returned to Singapore.
Shopping Shopping Shopping!!!
Today is a day of shopping! After days of occasional complaints from J about Cosmos Hotel ("everything is too pink" - I agree, "breakfast not great" - I also agree), we found one single redeeming quality that has put the hotel in J's good books. Instead of turning right like we usually do once we leave the hotel, we turned left to explore, at J's request, what appeared to be a rather boring and quiet street. It must have been the mothership calling out to J - the "boring" street turned out to be an entire row of shops selling outdoor gear, from all sorts of accessories and backpacks to clothing and footwear. J kept holding onto my hand excitedly and going "Cosmos Hotel is so cool!!!" (O_O)...
We explored the shops and spent quite some time in the Patagonia Outlet where we ended up buying a bag each from the very friendly sales assistant. J also took the opportunity to try on the jackets while I tried to distract the lady.
J's new bag
Seafood soup with meatballs
Bittergourd and spareribs soup (苦瓜排骨汤)
More shopping!!!
Next stop on our itinerary is Eslite bookstore, where I finally bought the complete set of 天观双侠 (also known as 多情浪子痴情侠), a pugilistic novel by Taiwanese writer 郑丰 which I have been hankering after for some time (the novel not the author...). After leaving the bookstore, we walked to the train station via the underground shopping mall. My feet were aching so much by this time (because of this lousy pair of sandals designed by Gisele Bundchen) that I finally threw my hands up in despair and collapsed onto a nearby bench. J finally managed to convince me to give up the sandals and buy something more comfortable. As luck would have it, there was a shoe shop nearby and I bought a pair of sneakers for the most amazing price of NTD150 (S$6.80)!
The salesgirl, who was very sweet and chirpy, offered to lace up the shoes for me and even helped to put my dirty sandals into a plastic bag. Finally, I felt like I could walk properly again! And J had a field day teasing me about my new shoes and how I would have suffered a lot less if I had taken his advice earlier (-_-')...
Feeling happy again, I decided to go to Sogo for more shopping. J bought peaches for his mum while I bought this:
My sukiyaki set
J's tonkatsu set
The Color of the Night
(Jud J. Friedman, Lauren Christy, Dominic Frontiere)
You and I moving in the dark
Bodies close but souls apart
Shadowed smiles and secrets unrevealed
I need to know the way you feel
Chorus :
I'll give you everything I am
And everything I want to be
I'll put it in your hands
If you could open up to me oh
Can't we ever get beyond this wall
'Cause all I want is just once
To see you in the light
But you hide behind
The color of the night
I can't go on running from the past
Lave has torn away this mask
And now like clouds like rain I'm drowning and
I blame it all on you
I'm lost - God save me...
Chorus:
'Cause all I want is just once
To see you in the light
But you hide behind
The color of the night
Chorus:
'Cause all I want is just once
Forever and again
I'm waiting for you, I'm standing in the light
But you hide behind
The color of the night
Please come out from
The color of the night
